machine won't turn on at all, no lights, completely dead after being unplugged for a move

— asked by Sam

Quick answer: This is almost always the internal thermal fuse (a safety device) blowing, often triggered by a power surge during plug-in or a failed heating element.

Diagnosis

This is almost always the internal thermal fuse (a safety device) blowing, often triggered by a power surge during plug-in or a failed heating element.

How to Fix It

Check the power supply method first.
1. Ensure you are plugging directly into a wall outlet, not a power strip or extension cord.
2. Try a different outlet in another room.
3. Check that the power cord is firmly connected at the back of the machine (it's removable).

If That Didn't Work

If the outlet and cord are confirmed good, the blown thermal fuse is the culprit. This is not a user-serviceable part. You must contact Jura service for repair.

Heads Up

Juras are sensitive to voltage spikes. Use a high-quality surge protector for the outlet, but plug the machine directly into that protector, not into a secondary strip.
