my aquatru glass carafe alkaline water system is making a loud humming noise and vibrating, is that normal?

That's the compressor cycling on. It's normal operation. The system uses 800 watts when the compressor is active to chill the water. The vibration means it's working hard. Check that the unit is level and has a few inches of clearance on all sides. If the noise is a grinding or rattling, that's different. For that, call service.
