In most cases, this is caused by a physical obstruction in the pump housing—such as a stray coin, a baby sock, or a buildup of lint and hair—which prevents the impeller from spinning or blocks the water flow. Less frequently, it is caused by a kinked external drain hose or a failure of the pump motor itself. You can confirm a physical blockage if you hear the pump humming or grinding during the drain cycle, but the water remains in the tub.
How to Fix It
To resolve the F-01 error and manually clear the system, follow these precise steps:
- Power down the machine and unplug it from the 120V outlet to ensure safety.
- Locate the small access door at the bottom front-left of the machine. Use a flat-head screwdriver or a coin to pop the latch and open the panel.
- Place a shallow baking tray or a thick layer of absorbent towels directly beneath the filter housing. Because the machine is full of water, you will likely encounter 1-2 gallons of stagnant liquid.
