DIAGNOSIS That’s the overheat error. The unit’s internal temperature sensor has tripped, usually because you started a cook cycle right after a previous one without letting it cool down enough, or there’s a serious airflow blockage.
FIX Unplug the unit completely and let it cool down for at least 30-45 minutes. While it’s cooling, pull out both drawers and baskets. Check the rear air intake vent on the back of the main unit and the top exhaust vent for any grease or food debris clogging the openings. Clean them with a dry brush. After the cool-down, plug it back in. The error should clear.
IF THAT DIDN'T WORK If E-01 comes back immediately after plugging in a cool unit, the internal temperature sensor itself might be faulty. You’d need to contact Ninja support for a repair or replacement, as that’s not a user-serviceable part.
HEADS UP This model needs a good 5-10 minute cool-down period between most cooking cycles. Rushing it is a surefire way to trigger this error. It’s annoying, but it’s a safety feature.
