Diagnosis
The Jeevony DV180 relies on magnetic force to create its airtight seal. If it's popping off, the primary cause is misalignment between your dryer's exhaust port and the wall vent inlet, creating a lateral pull that overcomes the magnets. Even a slight offset of more than 1-2 inches creates constant tension. When the dryer runs, vibration and the force of the exhausting air act on this tension, prying the coupling apart. A secondary cause can be an overly long or sagging flexible duct between the dryer and the coupling, which adds weight and sway.
How to Fix It
Unplug the dryer and pull it out. First, inspect the rigid metal duct on the wall. Ensure it's secure and pointing directly toward the dryer's expected position. Next, check the flexible transition hose from the dryer to the Jeevony coupling. It should be as short and straight as possible (under 8 feet is ideal, shorter is better). Use the supplied metal clamps to secure this hose tightly at both the dryer exhaust and the Jeevony coupling's rear port. Now, carefully reposition your dryer so its exhaust port aligns nearly perfectly with the wall vent. Slowly push the dryer back; the magnetic halves should click together cleanly without you having to force them. The coupling should feel solid, with no gap.
If That Didn't Work
If perfect alignment is impossible due to your laundry setup, the magnetic coupling may not be suitable. You must create a permanent, rigid connection. Remove the Jeevony coupling and replace the entire run from the dryer to the wall vent with a smooth, rigid metal ducting system, secured with foil tape (not duct tape) and metal clamps. This eliminates the failure point. Alternatively, a heavy-duty plastic or aluminum foil accordion hose with very secure clamping can be a temporary fix, but rigid metal is the safest, code-compliant solution.
Heads Up
A vent that repeatedly disconnects is a significant fire hazard. It allows hot, lint-laden air to exhaust into your laundry room, depositing highly flammable lint on nearby surfaces and inside your dryer cabinet. It also causes the dryer to overwork, increasing wear and fire risk. Never operate the dryer with a disconnected or leaking vent.
