my ninja dualbrew pro says CLn on the screen and won't brew, what do i do?

— asked by Jamie

The system has detected heavy calcium scale buildup in the heater. It will not brew until you run a descaling clean cycle.

FIX:

  1. Place the empty carafe beneath the brew basket.
  2. Fill the water reservoir to the Travel Mug line (16 oz.) with white vinegar, then fill the rest with water up to the Full line. Use only white vinegar or a commercial descaling solution.
  3. Press the CLEAN button, then press the START BREW button to begin.
  4. The cycle runs for about 75 minutes. Do not remove the carafe during the cycle.
  5. When it beeps and displays "End," empty the carafe and clean it thoroughly.
  6. Run a water-only cycle to flush the system. Use the same mode that had the CLn error: run a Full Carafe Classic brew for Grounds mode, a 12 oz. Classic for Pods mode, or a Full Carafe BOIL for Hot Water mode.
  7. If the taste persists, run another water-only cycle.

IF THAT DIDN'T WORK: If the CLn message returns quickly, you likely have hard water. You'll need to descale more frequently. The orange Intelligent Clean Cycle Indicator will illuminate as a warning before it gets to the CLn stage; don't ignore it.

HEADS UP: Hard water causes scale faster. Never cancel a clean cycle mid-run—your brewer won't be properly descaled. If you do cancel, you must restart from step 6 of the cleaning instructions.
