DIAGNOSIS The machine is detecting a water drainage problem. Error code 5E indicates a drain error, usually a clogged filter, kinked drain hose, or a failing pump.
FIX 1. Unplug the machine. 2. Open the service door at the bottom front left. 3. Place towels and a shallow pan under the filter cover. 4. Turn the filter cap slowly counterclockwise to drain residual water. 5. Remove the cap and clean any debris from the filter housing. 6. Check the drain hose behind the machine for kinks or clogs. 7. Reassemble, plug in, and run a drain/spin cycle.
IF THAT DIDN'T WORK The drain pump itself may be obstructed or faulty. You will need to access the pump behind the front lower panel to inspect for a foreign object or test the pump's operation.
HEADS UP The initial water release can be significant. Have towels ready and turn the filter cap very slowly.
