the detergent dispenser drawer on my wf45r6100aw won't open, it's stuck shut.

— asked by Riley

DIAGNOSIS The release lever is jammed due to hardened detergent or fabric softener residue acting as glue.

FIX 1. Press the release lever firmly while simultaneously pulling the drawer straight out. Do not force it. 2. If stuck, remove the drawer by pressing the release tab inside the compartment (when partially open) or by prying it up from the bottom. 3. Soak the entire drawer in hot water to dissolve residue. 4. Scrub the drawer and its slot in the machine with a soft brush. 5. Reinstall, ensuring it slides smoothly.

IF THAT DIDN'T WORK The dispenser drawer itself may be cracked or the internal mechanical release mechanism broken, requiring a replacement part (Dispenser Assy part # DD62-01487A).

HEADS UP Always run hot water through the dispenser's siphon caps after adding fabric softener to prevent clogging. Leave the drawer slightly open after use to dry.
