The loud banging and "walking" behavior on the Samsung WF45R6100AW is typically caused by an Unbalanced Load (UB) condition. This occurs when the laundry clumps on one side of the inner drum, shifting the center of gravity away from the central axis. As the machine ramps up to high RPMs during the spin cycle, the centrifugal force creates a violent oscillation that hits the outer cabinet walls, resulting in the loud thumping sound. If the noise persists even with small loads, the root cause is likely mechanical failure of the suspension system. How to Fix It
To resolve a load-based imbalance and stabilize the unit, follow these precise steps:
- Press the Start/Pause button immediately to halt the cycle. Wait for the door lock icon to disappear before attempting to open the door.
- Reach into the drum and manually redistribute the clothing. If you see a "ball" of towels or a single heavy duvet, pull them apart and spread them evenly around the perimeter of the drum.
- If you are washing a single heavy item (like a single bath mat or a heavy denim jacket), add two or three medium-sized towels to the load. This provides the necessary counterweight to balance the drum's rotation.
- Verify the machine's level by placing a bubble level on top of the chassis. Rotate the leveling legs at the bottom front of the machine clockwise to raise them or counter-clockwise to lower them until the bubble is centered.
- Tighten the lock nuts on the leveling legs firmly against the bottom of the frame to ensure the legs do not vibrate loose during the next cycle.
- Close the door and press Start. The machine will perform a short "sensing" spin to check for balance before ramping up to full speed.
If That Didn't Work
- Inspect the Shipping Bolts: If this is a new installation, ensure all four shipping bolts (the large bolts in the rear panel) were completely removed. If even one remains, the tub cannot move on its suspension, and the entire machine will violently shake and potentially damage the internal frame.
- Replace the Shock Absorbers: If the drum bounces excessively when pushed, the dampers (Part No: DC61-02444A or similar for this series) need replacement. You will need to remove the front and rear panels to access the bottom of the tub and swap out the old shocks for new, high-resistance dampers.
- Check the Tub Springs: Inspect the heavy-duty springs at the top of the tub. Look for any signs of fraying or a spring that has slipped off its mounting hook. A single detached spring will cause the tub to tilt, making it impossible to balance regardless of the load size.
- Calibrate the Machine: Run the Calibration Mode to reset the weight sensor. Press and hold Temp and Delay End simultaneously for 3 seconds until "CB" appears on the display. Press Start. The drum will rotate for a few minutes to relearn the empty tub's center of gravity.
