Diagnosis
The Ninja AF101 is in its low-power standby mode, indicated by the dim power light. This mode activates automatically for safety after 10-15 minutes of inactivity. The dim light confirms the unit is receiving power, but the main control system has shut down and requires a manual restart.
How to Fix It
Follow these steps to restore full functionality:
- Press and hold the Power button for a full 2-3 seconds. A firm, deliberate press is often needed to exit standby.
- Listen for a beep and watch for the display and all button lights to illuminate brightly.
- If the panel stays dark, unplug the appliance from the wall outlet. Wait 60 seconds, then plug it directly into a different, known-working outlet (not a power strip). Ensure the cord is fully inserted at both ends.
- Press and hold the Power button again.
If That Didn't Work
If the unit remains unresponsive, check these specific components:
- Assembly: The cooking basket must be fully and correctly clicked into the main unit. An improperly seated basket can prevent startup.
- Power Reset: Unplug the air fryer for at least 1 hour to allow its internal electronics to fully reset, then try again.
- Button Issue: Rarely, the power button itself can fail. If the dim light is present but no amount of pressing changes it, the control panel may be faulty.

Always plug the Ninja AF101 directly into a grounded wall outlet. Its high wattage demands a dedicated circuit; using an extension cord or power strip can cause a fire hazard or damage the appliance's internal components.
