Diagnosis
The seal is probably iced over. Moisture gets into the gap between the drawer and the frame, freezes, and acts like glue. It’s worse in humid environments or if the door isn’t sealing perfectly.
How to Fix It
Unplug the fridge. Empty the freezer as much as you can. Use a hair dryer on low heat to gently warm the gasket around the drawer opening. Don’t melt the plastic. Once you can get it open, dry all the surfaces thoroughly. Check the drain hole inside the freezer (usually under a panel at the back)—if it’s clogged with ice, defrost that too so water can drain properly.
If That Didn't Work
The drawer glide mechanism itself might be binding. Take the drawer completely out (lift up and pull). Inspect the wheels and tracks on both sides for broken plastic or debris. Clean the tracks with a damp cloth.
Heads Up
Don’t use any sharp tools to pry the drawer open. You’ll almost certainly crack the expensive drawer front or damage the gasket, making the problem worse.
