Diagnosis
Uneven heating is typically caused by obstructed burner ports or a misaligned/partially clogged burner tube on the cooler side. Grease or debris is the likely culprit.
How to Fix It
Turn off the gas and disconnect the propane tank. Remove the cooking grates and flavorizer bars. Inspect the burner tubes, especially on the right side. Look for spider webs, grease clumps, or rust flakes blocking the ports. Clean all ports along the length of each burner tube using a grill brush and a straightened paper clip. Ensure the burner tubes are correctly seated over the gas valves.
If That Didn't Work
The gas orifice for the cooler burner may be partially blocked. Locate the orifice where the gas valve meets the burner tube. Use a dedicated orifice cleaning tool (not a drill bit) to gently clear any debris. Do not enlarge the hole.
Heads Up
Perform this cleaning when the grill is completely cold. Never use a wire brush on the burner ports while the metal is hot, as bristles can dislodge and remain in the grill.
