DIAGNOSIS No. Frequent bulb failure points to vibration or a voltage issue. The socket is designed for a standard 100W A19 incandescent or equivalent LED.
FIX First, ensure you are using a rough service or garage door opener specific incandescent bulb, or a high-quality LED rated for enclosed fixtures. Cheap bulbs can't handle the vibration when the door operates. Tighten the bulb firmly. If using an LED, make sure it's non-dimmable.
IF THAT DIDN'T WORK Unplug the opener and inspect the light socket contacts. Bend the center tab up slightly with a small screwdriver to ensure a tight connection. A loose connection causes arcing and heat that kills bulbs.
HEADS UP Do not exceed a 100W equivalent. Higher wattage creates excess heat that can damage the light lens and wiring. The light circuit is not on the battery backup. It will not work during a power outage.
