Another contributing factor is the temperature-pressure relationship of the small thermoblock heater in the EC260BK. If the machine hasn't reached the peak steam temperature, or if the boiler is partially scaled with calcium, the pressure will be insufficient to push through even a minor obstruction. You can confirm a clog if the steam sounds "hissing" or high-pitched rather than a deep roar, or if the water exits the wand in a jagged, non-linear spray pattern.
How to Fix It
To restore the full pressure and aeration capability of your steam wand, follow these precise steps to clear the internal blockage and optimize the steaming process:
- Thermal Purge: Turn the steam dial to the "On" position and let the machine run for 30 seconds without the milk pitcher underneath. This clears any condensation (water) from the boiler and ensures the thermoblock is at maximum temperature.
