DIAGNOSIS Violent shaking and walking indicates the suspension rods or springs are damaged, or the shipping bolts were not removed. On this model, four suspension rods with dampening springs control the tub's movement.
FIX First, confirm all four shipping bolts and the styrofoam shipping block were removed from the rear of the washer during installation. If they are still installed, the tub is locked and will vibrate excessively. Unplug washer, remove bolts, keep them for future moves. Second, ensure the washer is perfectly level on a solid floor. Adjust the front leveling legs.
IF THAT DIDN'T WORK One or more suspension rods have likely failed. This requires disassembly of the cabinet to inspect and replace the rods (part WH49X10018). A broken rod cannot be repaired.
HEADS UP Operating the washer with failed suspension will damage the tub, bearings, and transmission. Do not place the washer on weak flooring or carpet without a reinforced washer pad. The unit must be level to within 1/2 inch.
