Diagnosis
A dirty power surge or irregular restoration during the outage can corrupt the Meross device's network settings. The solid red light indicates it's in a failed boot or error state.
How to Fix It
Force a factory reset and set it up from scratch.
- Unplug the Meross unit from power.
- Press and hold the physical button on the unit.
- While holding the button, plug the power back in. Continue holding for about 10 seconds until the light flashes red and green rapidly, then release.
- This wipes its internal memory. Go through the initial setup in the Meross app as if it were brand new.
If That Didn't Work
The power adapter itself might have been damaged. Try powering the Meross unit with a standard micro-USB cable and a different 5V/1A phone charger block as a test. If it boots normally (solid blue), the original power supply is faulty.
Heads Up
For future outages, a small UPS (battery backup) for your router and cable modem is a good investment, but plugging the garage door opener motor (and thus the Meross) into a UPS is not recommended due to high power draw. Let the opener power cycle; just protect your network.
