Diagnosis
You set it up using the "Meross" mode in the app, which is for standalone use. HomeKit requires a separate setup process that generates a unique HomeKit code.
How to Fix It
You need to re-add the device specifically to HomeKit.
- In the Meross app, delete the existing device from your device list.
- Open the Apple Home app and tap the '+' to add an accessory.
- Choose "More Options..." and look for the Meross device. It should appear.
- Scan the HomeKit setup code on the device itself (the label on the side or in ) when prompted. Follow the in-Home-app prompts to add it to a room.
If That Didn't Work
Your network might be blocking mDNS/Bonjour traffic, which HomeKit needs. Ensure you don't have a "client isolation" or "AP isolation" setting enabled on your router's Wi-Fi settings, especially if using an extender. Temporarily disable it for setup.
Heads Up
The Meross device can only be in one "primary" ecosystem at a time. Setting it up via HomeKit first is cleaner. If you set it up in the Meross app first, you must delete it and start over in the Home app to get full, reliable HomeKit control.
