meross worked fine for months, now it just beeps three times when i try to use it and nothing happens

Quick answer: The three-beep error is a standard garage door opener fault, not a Meross error. It means the opener's internal travel limits or force settings are out of whack, and it's rejecting the command for safety.

Diagnosis

The three-beep error is a standard garage door opener fault, not a Meross error. It means the opener's internal travel limits or force settings are out of whack, and it's rejecting the command for safety.

How to Fix It

Reset the force and travel limits on your main garage door opener motor unit, not the Meross device.

  1. Locate the two adjustment knobs/screws on the back or side of the main opener motor. One is for "Up Force/Travel" and one for "Down Force/Travel."
  2. Turn both knobs counter-clockwise (to decrease force) by about a quarter turn.
  3. Try operating the door via the Meross app again. If it works, slowly increase the force clockwise just until the door operates smoothly.

If That Didn't Work

The door springs might be failing, making the door too heavy. Manually lift the door halfway and let go. If it doesn't stay in place or is very hard to lift, the springs need professional service. The opener is beeping because it can't move the excessive weight.

Heads Up

The Meross unit is just sending a "button press" signal. The beeps and refusal come from your main opener's brain. Always troubleshoot the physical door and main opener first when you hear standard opener error beeps.
