Diagnosis
The tilt/yaw sensor attached to your garage door is miscalibrated or placed in a suboptimal spot. This sensor tells the Meross unit the door's angle, which it translates to open/closed.
How to Fix It
Recalibrate the door position sensor in the Meross app.
- Ensure the door is fully closed.
- In the Meross app, go to the device settings, find "Calibrate Door Position" or similar.
- Follow the prompts: it will ask you to confirm the door is closed, then to open it fully and confirm again.
- This resets the angle thresholds the app uses for status.
If That Didn't Work
The sensor placement is critical. It must be mounted vertically on the door itself, close to the hinge/top corner, with the arrow pointing up. If it's on the horizontal track or on a wobbly panel, the angle readings will be garbage. Remount it securely on a flat, vertical section of the top door panel.
Heads Up
The status updates are not instant; there's a slight delay. If the status is persistently wrong by more than a few minutes, it's calibration. Don't rely on this status as a primary security indicator—use it for convenience, and always visually confirm if security is a concern.
