DIAGNOSIS The blade assembly is not one solid piece; it has a bearing that allows it to spin. Some side-to-side play is normal, but excessive wobble means the bearing is worn out or the central shaft is bent, often from hitting a hard object like ice.
FIX Diagnose the source of the wobble.
- With the jar empty and unplugged, spin the blade by hand. It should spin smoothly with a slight, quiet whir. If it grinds, catches, or has more than 1/8 inch of side-to-side movement, it's faulty.
- Inspect the blades for obvious bends. A bent blade will strike the side of the jar.
IF THAT DIDN'T WORK The blade assembly is a sealed unit and cannot be repaired. You must replace the entire blade and gasket assembly. It's a standard part for this jar size.
HEADS UP Do not use a wobbly blade assembly. It creates an unbalanced load that can damage the motor's drive coupling and is a safety risk. Replace it immediately.
