camera says "offline" in the app every few hours even though my wifi is fine, have to keep rebooting it.

Quick answer: The camera is losing its persistent connection to the Arlo servers or your 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network. This is a common firmware or signal stability issue.

Diagnosis

The camera is losing its persistent connection to the Arlo servers or your 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network. This is a common firmware or signal stability issue.

How to Fix It

Move the camera closer to your Wi-Fi router. It has a weak internal antenna. If distance isn't the issue, go to Device Settings > Wi-Fi > Reconnect in the Arlo app. This forces a fresh network handshake.

If That Didn't Work

The problem is often router-related. On your router, disable band steering (which forces devices to 5GHz) and ensure the 2.4GHz channel width is set to 20MHz, not 40MHz. The camera needs a stable, legacy-compatible signal.

Heads Up

Do not place the camera near large metal objects, microwaves, or dense walls. These materials severely degrade the 2.4GHz signal it requires.
