Diagnosis
The wireless chime connector isn't properly paired or isn't receiving the signal from the doorbell. The connector plugs into an outlet inside and connects to your existing chime's wires.
How to Fix It
Re-pair the chime connector with your doorbell.
- Unplug the chime connector from the wall outlet for 10 seconds, then plug it back in. Wait for its light to settle.
- On the doorbell itself, press and hold the button for 5 seconds until it chimes. This sends a pairing signal.
- The chime connector light should flash. Your existing mechanical chime should now ring when you press the doorbell.
If That Didn't Work
Check the physical wiring at your old chime box. The thin wires from the chime connector must be securely attached to the 'Front' and 'Trans' (or similar) terminals. If they're loose or on the wrong terminals, no signal gets through.
Heads Up
The Nest Doorbell Battery works with most, but not all, mechanical chimes. If you have a digital chime system, it likely won't work at all—you'll need to use the in-app chime notification or a Google speaker instead.
