Diagnosis
The request stems from running out of the proprietary Braava Jet M6 cleaning solution. While using alternatives like Swiffer WetJet fluid or vinegar seems practical, these liquids are chemically incompatible with the robot's precise fluid delivery system.
How to Fix It
Use only the recommended iRobot Braava Jet Hard Floor Cleaner or clean, warm water. The correct procedure is:
- For a full clean: Add 2 fluid ounces (one full cap) of iRobot solution to the empty tank first, then fill the rest with warm water.
- If out of solution: Fill the tank completely with warm water only. This is safe and effective for routine cleaning.
- Always use a new, dry cleaning pad. Never pre-wet pads, as the robot is designed to dispense the precise amount of moisture from its tank.
If That Didn't Work
If you have already used an unauthorized cleaner, immediately run several clean water-only cycles to flush the system. Inspect for any error codes or unusual pump sounds. For persistent performance issues or leaks, contact iRobot Support, as internal damage from corrosive cleaners may have occurred.
Heads Up
Using vinegar, Swiffer solutions, or all-purpose cleaners will degrade seals, clog the pump, and void your warranty. The robot's internal components are engineered for specific, non-corrosive formulas. Stick to the official solution or plain water to ensure longevity.
