DIAGNOSIS You need to remove the monitor's stock stand first, which reveals the 100x100mm VESA pattern. The screws that came with your third-party mount are likely too long and will damage the internal panel.
FIX Use the correct, shorter screws.
- Lay the monitor face down on a soft surface.
- Press the quick-release button at the base of the stand and pull the stand away from the monitor.
- You'll see four screw holes in a square pattern. You need M4 screws, typically 6-8mm in length. Do not use screws longer than 10mm.
- Attach the VESA plate from your mount using these M4 screws, then mount the plate to your arm.
IF THAT DIDN'T WORK Your mount might have included spacers. If the screws are bottoming out, add the spacers/washers between the VESA plate and the monitor backplate to take up slack.
HEADS UP Do not force screws. If they don't thread in easily, they are the wrong size or type. Cross-threading will ruin the mounting points. The monitor is lightweight, but ensure your arm supports the weight (typically under 10 lbs).
