DIAGNOSIS The monitor is likely running in a default 'Standard' or 'Vivid' picture mode with poor contrast and gamma settings. The factory calibration is often suboptimal.
FIX Manually calibrate the picture settings via the OSD buttons.
- Press the 'Menu' button on the monitor.
- Navigate to 'Color' settings.
- Set 'Picture Mode' to 'User'.
- Adjust 'Brightness' to 50, 'Contrast' to 55 as a baseline.
- Set 'Color Temperature' to 'User' and adjust Red, Green, Blue to your preference (a common start is R:50, G:48, B:52 for less washed-out tones).
- Set 'Gamma' to 'Mode 2' for richer shadows.
IF THAT DIDN'T WORK Your graphics driver color settings are overriding the monitor. In NVIDIA Control Panel or AMD Software, under 'Display' > 'Adjust desktop color settings', ensure all controls are set to 'Application-controlled' or default.
HEADS UP The 100% sRGB claim is a color gamut measurement, not a guarantee of factory calibration. You will almost always need to tweak settings out of the box. Avoid the 'Game' picture mode for color accuracy—it often oversaturates.
