Your concern is valid. Improper cleaning can damage the cooling system, interior liner, and stainless steel finish of your Electactic 130 Can Beverage Refrigerator. The primary risks are using harsh chemicals that can corrode surfaces or cause electrical shorts, and moisture entering critical components.
How to Fix It
Follow these steps for a safe, thorough clean.
- Unplug & Empty: Disconnect power and remove all cans, bottles, and shelves.
- Clean Interior: Mix 2 tbsp baking soda per quart of warm water. Dampen a soft cloth (never pour liquid inside) and wipe all interior surfaces, including the door liner. This neutralizes odors and cleans without chemicals.
- Clean Shelves & Components: Wash removable shelves and door bins separately with warm water and a mild dish soap. Rinse and dry completely.
- Clean Exterior: For the stainless steel or painted finish, use warm water with a drop of mild detergent on a soft cloth. Wipe gently, then dry with a separate cloth to prevent streaks.
- Dry & Reassemble: Ensure the interior is completely dry. Wipe the door gasket. Reinstall dry shelves, plug the unit back in, and allow it to cool before reloading.
If That Didn't Work
For persistent mildew or sticky spills inside, use a 50/50 solution of white vinegar and water instead of baking soda, as vinegar is a mild disinfectant. For tough stains on stainless steel, use a cleaner specifically labeled for appliance-grade stainless, applied with the grain. Never clean the condenser coils on the back with anything but a soft brush or vacuum attachment.

Never use abrasive pads (like steel wool), harsh cleaners (bleach, ammonia), flammable fluids, or excessive water. These can permanently scratch the steel, degrade plastic, and create serious electrical hazards.
