You can clean the outside, but you have to be very careful about what you use. Always unplug the unit before cleaning.
- Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet first. Never clean the unit while it's plugged in.
- For the exterior plastic body, use only a soft, dry cloth to wipe away dust. Do not use a wet cloth, and never immerse any part of the purifier in water.
- For the air intake (front grille) and air outlet (side grille), you can use the soft, dry cloth to gently wipe dust from the openings. A vacuum cleaner with a brush attachment on low suction can also be used carefully.
- Do not use any cleaning agents. This means no water, no soap, no disinfectant wipes, no glass cleaner, no benzene, no thinners, and no abrasive or corrosive chemicals. These can damage the plastic, cause cracking, or leave dangerous residues inside the unit that get blown back into your air.
IF THAT DIDN'T WORK: If there is heavy dust buildup inside that you can't reach, do not disassemble the unit. The filter itself is not washable. If external cleaning doesn't restore performance, the issue may be internal. Contact support.
HEADS UP: Regularly cleaning the exterior prevents dust from being pulled into the intake. Also, remember to pull out the power plug occasionally and wipe it with a dry cloth to ensure a good connection.
