puroair 240 air purifier seems weak, not pulling much air. how do i check if it's working right?

Suboptimal airflow is typically caused by a blocked filter or obstructed vents. Perform this checklist.

  • Filter Status: Is the Filter change indicator red? If yes, replace the filter. Ensure the plastic bag was removed from the new filter.
  • Filter Type: Confirm you are using a genuine PuroAir 240 filter. Non-genuine filters limit effectiveness.
  • Airflow Path: Visually inspect the front air intake and side air outlet. Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe away any dust or debris blocking the grilles.
  • Clearance: Verify the unit has more than 8 inches of space on all sides, especially in front and to the side. Do not place it in a corner or against a wall.
  • Mode Setting: Press the Mode button to cycle to High fan speed (High indicator light on). Listen for a change in fan sound.

IF THAT DIDN'T WORK: The room may be larger than the unit's coverage area, or have high ceilings, which impacts performance. Ensure the purifier is in the center of the room for best circulation. If airflow still seems abnormally low after all checks, there may be a fan motor issue. Contact support at [email protected].

HEADS UP: For routine maintenance, unplug the unit and wipe the exterior body and vent grilles with a soft, dry cloth weekly to prevent dust accumulation that can impede airflow.
