Baked-on grease is tough, but you can tackle it with baking soda. First, always unplug the air fryer and let the basket cool completely before cleaning.
Fix:
- Pull the basket out to speed up cooling. The basket and crisper plate are dishwasher-safe, or you can wash them with hot, soapy water and a non-abrasive sponge. Soak if needed.
- For stubborn grease, make a paste: mix 2 tablespoons of baking soda with 1 tablespoon of water.
- Spread the paste on the greasy areas with a sponge. Let it sit for 15 minutes.
- Scrub, then rinse and wash the basket with soap and water before using it again.
If that didn't work: Never use metal scouring pads or abrasive cleaners—they'll damage the nonstick coating. You can also clean the heating coil inside the main unit to remove food debris; use a slightly moist, non-abrasive sponge. Do not immerse the air fryer housing in water.
Heads up: For easier cleanup, you can line the basket with foil, but never cover the crisper plate. And never put the basket or crisper plate in the air fryer while they're still wet. Dry them thoroughly first.
