how do i clean the outside of my honeywell hpa300? can i use a wet cloth or cleaner?

Use a dry or slightly damp cloth only. Harsh chemicals can damage the plastic and be recirculated into the air.

  1. Unplug the unit from the electrical outlet.
  2. Use a soft, lint-free cloth. For dust, use a dry cloth.
  3. For smudges or light soil, dampen the cloth with water only. Wring it out thoroughly so it's barely damp.
  4. Wipe the exterior cabinet and control panel gently. Do not allow moisture to seep into the vents or control panel seams.
  5. Dry the surface immediately with a separate dry cloth.
  6. Allow the unit to air dry completely before plugging it back in.

IF THAT DIDN'T WORK: For stubborn grime, use a mild soap solution (like dish soap diluted in water). Apply the solution to the cloth, not directly to the unit. Wipe, then immediately wipe again with a water-dampened cloth to remove residue, and dry thoroughly.

HEADS UP: Never use abrasive pads, scouring powders, solvents (like alcohol or ammonia), spray cleaners, or furniture polish. These can melt the plastic or leave a film that attracts more dust.
