DIAGNOSIS: The Blink Mini 2 isn't designed to plug directly into a computer like a USB drive. That error is because the computer expects a storage device, but the camera presents itself differently for local storage backup via the Sync Module 2.
FIX: Local storage for the Blink Mini 2 requires a separate device called a Blink Sync Module 2 and a USB flash drive. 1) You need to own a Sync Module 2. 2) Plug a compatible USB flash drive (FAT32 formatted, 1GB to 256GB) into the port on the Sync Module 2. 3) In the Blink app, go to the Sync Module's settings, select "Local Storage," and format the USB drive through the app. Once set up, clips saved to local storage will be written to the drive on the Sync Module, not by plugging the camera itself into anything.
IF THAT DIDN'T WORK: If you're trying to power the camera from your PC's USB port, that might also cause an error. The camera needs more power than most PC USB ports provide. Always use the included wall adapter for reliable operation.
HEADS UP: You cannot directly access or live view from the camera via USB. All management is done through the Blink app and the Sync Module. The "USB Device Not Recognized" message is normal if you plug the camera into a PC and can be ignored.
