irobot m6 mop tank smells bad, how do i clean it?

— asked by Casey

Stagnant water or cleaning solution residue in the tank causes the odor. Clean it immediately.

  • Remove the tank from the robot.
  • Fill it with warm water—do not use boiling water.
  • Close the cap and shake the tank lightly.
  • Rinse thoroughly and repeat if needed.
  • Let the tank air dry completely before reattaching it.

Prevention: Don't leave water in the tank between uses. After a job, empty any leftover water and let the tank dry. Only use Braava Jet Hard Floor Cleaning Solution. Other solutions can cause residue and damage. Use 6 capfuls per tank.

If the smell persists: Check the removable drip tray on the charging station. Lift it off and clean it with a damp cloth or warm water in the sink. Dry it thoroughly before snapping it back on.
