Diagnosis
A completely dead Auertech portable washer (no lights, no sound, no action) almost always points to an interruption in the electrical circuit. This is typically caused by one of three simple safety or power issues, rather than a major internal failure. The machine's design includes several safety interlocks that must be satisfied before it will receive power.
How to Fix It
- Power Source: Unplug the machine. Plug it directly into a working, grounded 120V (115V) wall outlet—never a power strip, extension cord, or GFCI outlet that may have tripped. Test the outlet with another device to confirm it's live.
- Lid Security: The washer has a lid safety switch for each tub compartment. Firmly press down and ensure the lid for the tub you intend to use (wash or spin) is 100% latched shut. You should hear a definitive click.
- Timer Settings: Rotate the timer knob for your selected function (Wash or Spin) clockwise until it clicks into a position clearly past the "0" minute mark. The machine will not activate if the timer is set to zero.
If That Didn't Work
If the machine remains dead, the issue may be internal. First, inspect the power cord for any cuts, kinks, or damage. Next, with the unit unplugged, check the household circuit breaker or fuse for the outlet. Finally, the lid safety switch itself could be faulty or misaligned, preventing the circuit from closing even when the lid is shut.

Always unplug the washer before inspecting the power cord or attempting any internal checks. Using an extension cord or power strip can cause insufficient voltage, preventing startup and potentially damaging the motor.
