Poor ice-making result has three primary causes related to temperature and ventilation.
- Poor heat dissipation: Ensure there is at least a 6-inch (15 cm) clearance on all sides of the ice maker.
- Water temperature too high: Fill the water reservoir with water between 8°C and 28°C (46°F to 82°F). Do not use hot water.
- Ambient temperature too high: Operate the ice maker in an environment between 10°C and 32°C (50°F to 90°F).
Also, check that the drain plug at the bottom of the water reservoir is closed well before starting. If the water is very cold (below 5°C/41°F), that can also slow the cycle.
If that didn't work, and the cycle seems normal but no ice is produced, the refrigerating system may be blocked or leaking. This requires a call to customer service. Do not attempt to repair it yourself.
