Diagnosis
The ceramic plates aren't receiving power to heat. The most common cause is a broken or loose internal connection, often at the hinge or where the cord enters the handle.
How to Fix It
First, check the power cord and outlet.
1. Plug the iron into a different, known-working outlet.
2. Firmly wiggle the cord where it attaches to the iron and at the wall plug. Listen for any crackling or see if the light flickers.
3. Try flexing the cord near the iron's handle while it's on. If the light flickers or it briefly heats, the cord is damaged internally where it connects.
If That Didn't Work
The internal thermal fuse or heating element has likely failed. This isn't user-serviceable. For a product that won't heat at all, replacement is the only option.
Heads Up
Don't attempt to open the handle. The internal components are sealed and there's a risk of electric shock. If it's under warranty, contact Remington.
