my ring floodlight cam pro just shows a solid white light on the front, it won't connect or do anything else.

DIAGNOSIS A solid white light means the device is in Setup Mode but failed to fully connect. This is almost always a Wi-Fi network issue during initial setup or after a router change.

FIX You need to force a hard reset and re-setup from scratch.

  • Press and hold the setup button on the top of the camera for 20 seconds. Release when the light ring goes off and then pulses.
  • In the Ring app, go to Settings > Device Settings > Remove Device. Delete the old entry.
  • Tap "Set Up a Device" and follow the in-app steps. Critical: Ensure your phone is connected to the 2.4GHz band of your Wi-Fi, not 5GHz.

IF THAT DIDN'T WORK If the app still fails to find the device, your router's firewall or security settings (like AP isolation) might be blocking it. Temporarily disable advanced security features like "AP Isolation" or "Client Isolation" in your router settings during setup.

HEADS UP The Floodlight Cam Wired Pro has a higher bandwidth requirement than older models. For reliable live view and recording, your upload speed at the camera's location should be at least 2 Mbps.
