the live view on my floodlight cam pro is super laggy and pixelated, even though my internet is fine.

DIAGNOSIS Choppy, low-quality live view is almost exclusively a bandwidth issue between the camera and your router, or on your phone's connection.

FIX Check the device's network health and optimize your Wi-Fi.

  • In the Ring app, go to Device Health for the camera. Check the RSSI value. Anything worse than -60 is a problem.
  • Run a speed test on your phone while standing near the camera. Your upload speed (from your ISP) is the critical number for the camera's stream. It needs a stable 2+ Mbps.
  • Ensure no other devices on your network are hogging bandwidth (like 4K streaming or large downloads) when you check.

IF THAT DIDN'T WORK The issue might be your phone's connection. Try viewing Live View while connected to your home Wi-Fi, not cellular data. Also, force close and restart the Ring app to clear its cache.

HEADS UP The "Video Quality" setting in Device Settings only affects recorded videos, not Live View. Live View quality auto-adjusts based on available bandwidth, so fixing the network is the only solution.
