Diagnosis
The SolarCell remote uses both RF (radio frequency) and IR (infrared). The lag or need to point means it’s falling back to the slower IR mode because the RF connection is weak or interrupted.
How to Fix It
1) First, recharge the remote. Place it under a bright light (a lamp is better than room lighting) or in indirect sunlight for a few hours. A low battery can weaken the RF signal. 2) While it’s charging, restart your TV (unplug it from the wall for 60 seconds, then plug back in). This resets the RF receiver in the TV.
If That Didn't Work
There might be RF interference. Move other wireless devices (like routers, Bluetooth speakers, or even USB 3.0 cables near the TV) further away. Also, make sure nothing is physically blocking the TV’s bottom-center, where the receiver is.
Heads Up
These remotes don’t use traditional batteries you replace. If it won’t hold a charge after proper light exposure, the internal battery might be defective and the remote itself needs replacing under warranty.
