You're likely overfilling the basket or not using enough oil. An overstuffed basket blocks airflow, leading to undercooked, soggy food.
Fix:
- Reduce batch size: Place smaller batches of food in the basket. Don't heap food above the top.
- Add a little oil: Spraying or brushing a small amount of oil on food significantly increases crispiness.
- Adjust settings: Increase the cooking temperature or time. Use the preheat function (205°C for 4 min by default) for a better start.
If that didn't work: Ensure you're using the crisper plate. It allows excess oil to drip away from the food. If cooking frozen fries, use the dedicated Frozen Turbo Mode for the highest fan speed and best results.
Heads up: Never fill the basket with oil or liquid. The crisper plate must be firmly inserted into the basket—tilt it to insert one side first, then press down the other.
