DIAGNOSIS The coating is degrading due to abrasive cleaning (metal utensils, scouring pads, harsh dishwasher detergents) or thermal shock (going from very hot to very cold water).
FIX Stop using it immediately if the coating is flaking. You cannot repair the coating.
- Order an official Ninja replacement basket (part number often listed as "Crisper Plate" or "Basket"). Search for "Ninja AF161 replacement basket."
- While waiting for the new part, you can use parchment paper liners designed for air fryers as a temporary barrier, but this affects airflow and cooking efficiency.
IF THAT DIDN'T WORK If the official part is out of stock or too expensive, check if your model is still under warranty (typically 1 year). Chipping under normal use is sometimes covered. Contact Ninja support with your serial number.
HEADS UP Ingesting flakes of non-stick coating is not safe. Once it starts chipping, it will continue to degrade faster. Never use metal utensils or abrasive cleaners. Hand wash with a soft sponge and mild detergent.
