Diagnosis
The capacitive touchscreen is freezing or glitching. This is often caused by moisture on the screen, a software hang, or a failing power supply to the control board.
How to Fix It
Power cycle the machine: unplug it from the wall for 2 full minutes. Dry the screen and surrounding area completely with a microfiber cloth. Plug it back in and turn it on.
If That Didn't Work
Perform a factory reset. With the machine off, press and hold the '1 Cup', '2 Cup', and 'Power' buttons together for 5 seconds until the screen resets. This clears user settings but not calibration.
Heads Up
Avoid spraying cleaner directly on the screen. Condensation from steaming can drip down—keep a cloth handy to wipe the control panel dry during use.
