DIAGNOSIS Mold and biofilm in hidden areas. The rubber bellows (door gasket), detergent dispenser, and drain pump filter harbor moisture and residue.
FIX Run the Tub Clean cycle with an LG-approved washer cleaner or two cups of liquid bleach. Leave the door and detergent drawer open after every wash to dry the drum completely.
IF THAT DIDN'T WORK Manually clean the rubber bellows. Pull it back and wipe the entire inner lip, especially the bottom, with a bleach solution. Clean the detergent drawer and its housing.
HEADS UP Using more than the recommended amount of HE detergent or fabric softener creates more residue. It feeds mold growth. Always use high-efficiency detergent only.
