Primary cause: The safety overheat protection has been triggered.
FIX:
- Unplug the appliance and let it cool completely for at least 30 minutes.
- Before restarting, verify the air intake vents on the back and the exhaust vent on top are not blocked by walls, cabinets, or other appliances. Clearance of at least 5 inches is required on all sides.
- Ensure the unit is not placed under a cabinet, as trapped heat can cause a shutdown.
IF THAT DIDN'T WORK:
- Check the crumb tray at the bottom of the drawer. If it's excessively full of grease or debris, it can overheat. Clean it thoroughly.
- Confirm you are not using the appliance on a power strip or GFCI outlet that may be tripping.
