If you've forgotten the admin password, you'll need to perform a factory reset. This erases all your custom settings.
Here are the steps:
- Locate the recessed Reset button on the back of your Orbi router.
- With the router powered on, use a paperclip or similar tool to press and hold the Reset button.
- Continue holding for at least 10 seconds. Release the button when the Power LED starts blinking amber. The router will reboot with factory defaults.
After the reset:
- The default login username is admin.
- The default password is password (all lowercase).
- You will need to set up your WiFi name, password, and Internet connection again from scratch.
IF THAT DIDN'T WORK: Ensure you're holding the Reset button long enough. The Power LED must change to a blinking amber. If it doesn't, the router may not be fully booted. Power cycle the router and try the reset again immediately after it powers on.
HEADS UP: Factory resetting the router does not automatically reset any connected satellites. You may need to re-sync them or factory reset them separately using their own Reset buttons.
