Diagnosis: No link detected on the Internet port (port 3 on the back). This indicates a problem with the physical connection to your modem or ONT.
FIX: Execute this physical layer checklist.
- Verify the Ethernet cable is firmly seated in the router's Internet port.
- Verify the other end of the cable is firmly seated in your modem or fiber ONT.
- Ensure your modem/ONT is powered on and fully booted.
- Try a different Ethernet cable.
- Try connecting the cable to a different LAN port (port 1 or 2) on the router to test the cable and router port. Note: For Internet service, you must use the dedicated Internet port.
IF THAT DIDN'T WORK: The issue may be with the modem or ISP service.
- Power cycle your modem/ONT: unplug it from power, wait 60 seconds, and plug it back in. Wait for it to fully restart before checking the Orbi's Internet port light.
- Contact your Internet Service Provider to verify there is no outage and that your modem/ONT is provisioned correctly.
HEADS UP: The Internet port and Ethernet Port 1 support Internet port aggregation (WAN link aggregation) for multi-gig Internet plans. For standard setups, only use the dedicated Internet port.
