i can't get the blender blade out of the bottom of the container to clean it, it's stuck on there super tight.

DIAGNOSIS Food residue, especially starchy or sugary substances, has acted like glue, sealing the blade assembly to the container's threaded base.

FIX

  • Fill the container with hot, soapy water and let it soak for 15-20 minutes. This will soften and dissolve the residue.
  • Grip the container firmly with one hand. With the other, hold the blade assembly by its center plastic hub (not the sharp blades).
  • Turn the blade assembly counter-clockwise (lefty-loosy) with steady, firm pressure. It should unscrew.

IF THAT DIDN'T WORK If soaking doesn't loosen it, try blending a container half-full of hot water with a drop of dish soap on a short 'Blend' cycle. The motion and heat can help break the seal. Let it sit for another 10 minutes after blending, then try unscrewing again.

HEADS UP To prevent this, always unscrew and remove the blade assembly for cleaning immediately after use, before residues have a chance to dry and harden. Never put the container in the dishwasher with the blade assembly attached.
