my ninja professional plus blender just flashes the 'add more liquid' light and won't blend, even though there's plenty of liquid in there.

DIAGNOSIS The Auto-iQ program isn't detecting enough liquid to safely run. This usually means the liquid isn't reaching the bottom sensor or the container isn't seated perfectly.

FIX

  • First, stop the program and remove the container from the base.
  • Give the container a hard shake or a tap on the counter to dislodge any air pockets and get liquid to the very bottom.
  • Re-seat the container. You must hear and feel a distinct *click* when it locks into place on the motor base.
  • Select your program again. It should now run without the error light.

IF THAT DIDN'T WORK Check the bottom of the blending container and the raised ring on the motor base. Even a small amount of dried food residue or a hairline crack in the container's base can break the seal and cause this error. Clean both surfaces thoroughly with a damp cloth.

HEADS UP The 'add more liquid' safeguard is aggressive. For thick mixtures like nut butters or frozen desserts, you genuinely may need to add a tablespoon or two of extra liquid (water, milk, oil) to get the vortex going and satisfy the sensor.
