Diagnosis
A solid white light means the doorbell is in Setup Mode, but it's frozen or failed to connect to your network.
How to Fix It
Force a hard reset and restart the setup process from scratch.
- Press and hold the setup button on the front for 20 seconds. The light will spin and then turn off. Release the button.
- Wait a full minute. The light should start pulsing white, indicating it's ready for setup.
- In the Ring app, go to Set Up a Device > Doorbells. Follow the in-app steps. When prompted to scan the QR code or MAC address, use the code on the *back* of the doorbell unit itself, not the one in .
- Ensure you are connecting to a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network during setup. The Pro 2 does not support 5 GHz for initial setup.
If That Didn't Work
Your router might be blocking the connection. Temporarily disable any firewall features like 'AP Isolation', 'Client Isolation', or 'MAC address filtering' on your router during setup. Re-enable them after the doorbell is connected.
Heads Up
If you have a mesh network system (like Eero, Google Nest WiFi), ensure your phone is connected to the same mesh node/router that you want the doorbell to use before starting setup. Phone and doorbell need to be on the same broadcast segment initially.
