DIAGNOSIS A slow fill time points to a restriction in the cold or hot water inlet path. The primary suspects are: 1) The inlet screens at the water valve are clogged with sediment, 2) The household water supply valves are not fully open, or 3) The water pressure itself is low.
FIX Unplug the washer. Turn off both hot and cold water supply valves at the wall. Disconnect the fill hoses from the back of the machine. Inspect the small mesh screens inside the water valve ports on the washer. Use needle-nose pliers to gently remove each screen. Rinse them under water to clear debris. Reinsert them carefully. Reconnect hoses and turn water supply fully on.
IF THAT DIDN'T WORK Check the fill hoses themselves for kinks. Also, disconnect the hoses from the wall valves and check those screens for sediment. Test household water pressure. It should be between 20 and 120 psi for proper operation.
HEADS UP If only one temperature (e.g., cold) fills slowly, the clog is isolated to that specific inlet screen or supply line. The machine will wait for both fills to complete before agitating, hence the long delay.
