DIAGNOSIS The main control board isn't getting power. This is almost always a blown thermal fuse on the main control board or a failed power supply component.

FIX Unplug the washer. Remove the two screws at the top-rear of the back panel and slide it off. Locate the main control board. Check the thermal fuse, a small white rectangular part usually near a large resistor. Test it for continuity. If it's blown, replace the main control board (part #WPW10706373).

IF THAT DIDN'T WORK The issue could be the user interface control panel. Disconnect the wire harness from the main board to the control panel and inspect for corrosion or bent pins. A damaged harness or failed control panel will prevent startup.

HEADS UP The main control board replacement requires reprogramming the NVM (non-volatile memory) for your specific model. A new board from Whirlpool should come pre-programmed, but confirm with the supplier.
